Spy visits Cover For Action?

I'm amazed at the interest generated by a very small snippet I posted last week. The interest is over an Organ Harvesting report by David Kilgour and David Matas. After an initial challenge of the post by Anon, several others posted highlighting Anon as being the spy "Bobby Fletcher", alias of course.

What an honor! If Bobby Flether is truly a spy, we welcome him back. We have to ask, what kind of spy would be concerned with a little bit on the Falun Gong? An agent of propaganda... of misinformation?

As I said before, I appreciate comments and debate, and encourage everyone to continue posting on these issues.

As you can imagine, with an alleged spy visiting the blog, I did a little research of the so called Spy: Bobby Fletcher. Here's what I've come up with:

- Fletcher has posted on numerous other blogs and sites about the Kilgour report, the links and language appear to be identical to those which Anon posted here. From this analysis, I will assume Anon is Bobby Fletcher.

Fletcher has also posted on other issues. In Febuary of last year, he posted a rather shallow bit about Chi Mak on the Jawa Report. In the post Fletcher says:

- "It seems the prosecution have lied on so many things, it's beginning to smell like another Wen Ho Lee."
- the "prosecution have trumped up a "fake marriage" charge, insinuating she whored herself out."

Just as he did here, Fletcher provided a link to an article which did not support his claims. In this instance, it was the San Mateo Daily Journal. The article does it say the prosecution lied or "trumped up" fake marriage charges. Perhaps Fletcher is hoping you'll just take his word for it, (a type of propaganda ). Interestingly, what the article does say is the following:

- prosecutors said they found a detailed hand-drawn map of the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, used for testing prototype nuclear reactors, at Chi Mak’s house.
- U.S. Magistrate Judge Marc Goldman set Chi Mak’s bond at $300,000 and placed him in home detention with a global positioning system to monitor his movements.
- Mak, 65, stole computer disks from Anaheim defense contractor Power Paragon, where he was lead engineer on a sensitive research project involving propulsion systems for Navy warships. Power Paragon has more than 200 contracts with the U.S. Navy, according to court documents.
- Prosecutors have previously said authorities recovered from the CD restricted documents on the DDX Destroyer, considered the destroyer of the future, that were marked “for official use only.” Authorities also allege they found two lists in Chinese asking Chi Mak to get documents about submarine torpedo technology, electromagnetic artillery systems, weapon standardization, early warning technology to detect incoming missiles and defenses against nuclear attack.

Nothing in the news article speaks to trumped up charges or wrong doing by prosecutors. When a judge sets $300,000 bail and forces you to wear a GPS monitor... that's a pretty good indication your up a creek. Stealing computer discs that have sensitive Naval research on involving propulsion, that's not so good either. Then when prosecutors find a list asking you to acquire EM system technology, sub torpedo technology and early warning system technology, you've got problems.

So the question from Cover For Action (CFA) is: what was the motivation of Fletcher's post? Why the Anti-U.S. rhetoric with no supporting documentation?

We've outlined at least two of Fletcher's post with anti-US sentiment which has little or no legitimate documentation to support it, however, we've not seen Fletcher post any concerns about China's anti U.S. machine. For example, no criticism on the other Chinese Spy cases in the U.S., China's stalking U.S. subs, China's laser attack on U.S. Sats, Chinese persecution of dissidents, etc. etc. This leaves one wondering what Fletcher is doing out there is cyber space. Could he be a spy, and Agent of influence? If so, we welcome him back.

Fletcher also listed an article from the LA Times. I could not access the article, but did find a later (June 7, 2006) official press release. Here are the highlights.

- Two Southern California family members originally from the People’s Republic of China were indicted today by a grand jury on charges of lying to the government and acting as agents of the People’s Republic of China. Fuk Heung Li, 48, and her son, Billy Yui Mak, 26, were charged with failing to register as agents of a foreign government and making false statements to federal authorities.

- Chi Mak, an engineer with a U.S. Navy defense contractor, allegedly collected technical information about the U.S. Navy’s current and future warship technologies. This information was sensitive and subject to restriction regarding its distribution, storage and handling. According to court documents, Chi Mak and his wife allegedly copied the information intended for the PRC onto CD-ROM disks, which were then given to Tai Mak. Billy Mak then allegedly encrypted the defense data onto a CD-ROM disk in preparation for surreptitious delivery to the PRC.

CFA asks: Since Fletcher's anti-U.S. posting on Chi Mak, several other news reports and indictments have come to pass and shine negative light on Chi Mak and his intelligence cell, yet Fletcher has not retracted his allegations that the U.S. lied about the Mak's. Why?

In addition, in October of 2006, new indictments were again handed down and Fletcher was silent. Military.com reported the news which included the following:

- The new indictment includes three counts of actual and attempted unlawful export of defense articles for Chi Mak; one count of possession of property in aid of a foreign government for Tai Mak

- Five members of a family accused of scheming to send sensitive information about Navy warships to China were indicted Wednesday on new conspiracy charges, prosecutors said.

More Fletcher analysis coming soon!

Smoof, the fact you have quaify your title with a '?' and settle for insinuation means you have no proof for such outlandish claim.

Do you have any proof? Did Falun Gong disciples like Jana Shearer provide any proof? Don't get all worked up, I'm a nobody.

My blog profile is open to public, you only have to send me an email to find out. Heck if you are in Seattle let me buy you a cup of coffee (or a beer at Pike Pub if you're old enough 8-)

I noticed you are not disputing the links I cited. I welcome any correction.

As to the Chi Mak case on Jawa, I provided two citations. You might want to check the LA Times article. You will have to take it up with LA Times on why their link expire.

The "anti-US" charge is a bit heavy, don't you think? Question my patriotism just because I disagree?

Maybe I shouldn't waste my time here if you don't want to be taken seriously.

BTW, government misconduct in the Chi Mak, and the Wen Ho Lee cases are well documented:

"My country right or wrong, my country!
When right stay right, when wrong set right."

I bet you didn't know the 2nd verse, did you?

Fletcher, I questioned if a spy had visited the site...this is different that calling you one. Why are you so angry?

You have posted a number anti U.S. statements. The charge is founded and grounded.

The LA Times article and the others you listed do not support what you wrote; your post and accusation stand on weak ground.

You have a habit of taking single statements from articles and then posting them out of context. This is classic propaganda. It's intresting you understand this technique. Is it because you are trained or you're just only seeing what you want to see (confirmation bias).

Have you read the PILE of indictments on Chi Mak. Friend, he's in custody and has been indicted by a court/jury. What more do you need? Instead you claim the U.S. government is lying and has trumped up charges. That sounds anti-U.S. to me. Perhaps an old article said this... but were talking about new or current information now. Yet, you still cling to old information that suites your view. Again, this is propaganda. You know this right?

Now, I wish you to say here. Come back and post all you like. I started out posted issues and articles and you quickly turned it into a personal attack because others posted about your identity. Can we have a debate here, or do you have a need for personal attacks.

So with the invitation to come back, please post and let’s have a debate and look at the facts. If we agree to disagree then so be it… let the readers determine whose logic they favor. You can give yourself some credibility by addressing the questions asked in previous posts.

If you decide not to return, then that's your choice.

Smoof, I'm not angry, just disapointed.

All my comments on your blog are well researched and cited. They are on-topic and are not personal nor attack. I've taken your blog seriousely.

I'm not the one attacking people by making "spy" charge or insinuation without proof. I'll politely again, do you have any proof, or received any proof from people who "tipped you off"?

I didn't think so.

Looking out for minority citizen's rights and government abuse is not anti-US, it's the highest form of patriotism.

What more do I need? Even you should demand presumtion of innocence and due process for Chi Mak. If you don't you are next. I cited you plenty of articles of on why it is wrong to repeatedly charge Chi Mak and hope the charge will not get thrown out.

And by the merit of not mentioning Wen Ho Lee, I'll assume you conceed on the point.

It's ironic that "J", aka Jana Shearer, is a proven Falun Gong operative:

http://www.google.com/search?q=Jana+Shearer+Dafa

No spycraft necessary, just a simple Google search.

But if you don't wish to be taken seriously, that's fine. Keep telling yourself I'm the one that's attacking people or hate America.

Thanks Mad Smoof,

Bobby Fletcher alias Charles Lui etc has never answered why he defends the Chinese communist party?

Yes welcome him back and see what he can offer up for a rational explanation for inciting hatred towards any one who criticizes the Chinese communist regime.

Why would anyone say that Tianamene Square massacre did not happen as portrayed? When you really check out his links they dont add up which is how the The united front works department operates. Its a percentage game.

I will step up here and make sure you know I was not calling you a spy, others have... and that alone was interesting. I should have asked you. I would like to offer you. So, here I go, I'll ask you a few questions and you answer. Is that ok?

Bobby Fletcher or the real person behind Bobby Fletcher:

1. Are you a Spy?
2. Do you report to any officials of the Chinese or Taiwanese government?
3. Have you ever provided information to these governments?
4. Have these governments asked to you to do anything for them?

Finally, everyone on this blog can get it right from you, and you can set the record straight... and we will be beyond this Spy issue. There is of course, no obligation to answer.

With respect to Chi Mak. His alleged team of intelligence operatives has been indicted, which mean a group of our peers believes there's enough evidence to show his case should be brought court and there was enough evidence to arrest them. The system has flaws, I agree... trivial technicalities can be exploited and people set free. I think a lot of people put O.J. Simpson and Wen Ho Lee in this category. They believe they are guilty but allowed to walk on technical issues. There is something more interesting about Wen Ho Lee too, which is best summed up by David Horowitz in an article he wrote in Front Page Magazine:

FBI DIRECTOR Louis B. Freeh got my attention when he tried to explain why the Justice Department dropped 58 of 59 charges against suspected nuclear spy Wen Ho Lee. “The Department of Justice and the FBI stand by each and every one of the 59 counts in the indictment of Dr. Lee,” Freeh told the Senate Judiciary and Select Intelligence committees. (AP 9/26/2000) “Each of those counts could be proven in December 1999 [when Lee was indicted], and each of them could be proven today.” Justice had agreed to a deal of guilt on one count (and a sentence of time served) in order to secure Lee’s cooperation in locating the missing files he had stolen from the nation’s top nuclear weapons lab. But the real reason for the cave-in was that the rules of a trial “posed serious obstacles to proving those facts without revealing nuclear secrets in open courts.”

What happens is the government decides there will be less lost to let Lee walk then expose secrets in court. Not sure it’s a matter of being found innocent as much as it’s a matter of being fortunate enough to have the charges dropped by those bringing them.

1. No, I am not a spy.
2. No I do not report any officials of the Chinese or Taiwanese government.
3. No I have not provided information to these governments. 4. No these government have not asked me to do anything for them.

Now don't you feel a little ashamed of yourselves?

"Innocent until proven guilty" is a foundation of western democracy, and you've forsakened it.

Fletcher, I'm very sorry... and did not intend to offend you. I asked those questions in order for you to set the record straight. I’ve read the accusations on several blogs.

People were claiming you to be a spy, you asked several times if they had proof... but you never said you were not. It's not that I questioned if you were or not, but I wanted to create a place for you to tell everyone you are not a spy. Sorry if you took that the wrong way.

Hope you come back.
